About Oliver Borrow (BA Hons)
Purple Paphiopedilum
Oliver Borrow is the founder of Borrowed Space. He is a garden and landscape designer living in Brighton & Hove, Sussex. He is trained in horticulture and a professionally qualified garden designer. His passion for plants, art and design have culminated in a company that produces fabulous landscaped gardens that people can enjoy for years to come.
Coming from rural Norfolk, Oliver grew up with a love and understanding of the landscape and the outdoors.
Leaving Norfolk he went to study horticulture at Pershore College of Horticulture, one of the country's leading horticultural colleges and received both a National Certificate and a National Diploma in Ornamental Horticulture. Whilst at Pershore Oliver was creatively and practically involved in the design and construction of two medal winning gardens at The Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show.
Being inspired to use plants and landscapes as an art medium, he decided to further his education at Leeds Metropolitan University. It was at Leeds where he learnt how to use the aesthetic value and workings of plants and the landscape to create beautifully designed exterior spaces that work on a practical basis. He graduated from Leeds with a BA (Honours) Degree in Garden Art and Design.
Now based in Brighton & Hove, East Sussex, Oliver oversees the business and is practically involved, working along side the hand picked team of landscapers and gardeners that work with him.
